CURRENT POSITION
PhD Student in Behavioural Biology (University of Parma) since 1st January 2012

RESEARCH INTERESTS
I’m interested in behavioral ecology and, in particular, in the application of ant-fauna as indicator of environmental quality. My Master Degree thesis focused on the ecological structure of ant communities in typical Mediterranean ecosystems, that were selected inside the Natural Reserve of the Castelporziano Presidential Estate (Roma, Italy). At present, I’m collaborating on the creation of an Italian ant species data base with reference to ant community structure in the most indicative Italian habitats.

SCIENTIFIC ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIPS

CURRENT POSITION
PhD Student in Behavioural Biology (University of Parma) since 1st January 2013

RESEARCH INTERESTS

I’m interested in entomology and biological control. My master degree thesis focused on the use of pheromone traps to reduce the presence of insect pests inside an animal food factory.I’m a biology teacher at high school and at present I’m having a break to attend my PhD. The topic of my research is to study the multitrophic interactions among plant, insect pest, its predator and ants. The aim is to check if ants could be used for biological control programmes.
